Protect yourself: email and wire fraud

Don't send sensitive information by email. Email isn't a secure way to communicate and can be intercepted, altered, or faked. Please don't email Social Security numbers, dates of birth, account numbers, or other confidential data.

Wire fraud warning. GoRascal will never send wiring instructions by email, text message, or electronic attachment. Always verify wire instructions directly with your title company using a trusted phone number from a reliable source, not one from an email or message. Failing to verify can mean losing your money.

Privacy notice for this website

What we collect. If you use the contact form, we collect what you type: your name, phone, email, property state, topic, and message, plus the page you sent it from, the time, and your IP address for spam prevention. If you text, call, DM, or email, we receive whatever you send, including any Loan Estimate.

How we use it. Only to respond to your inquiry and help with your mortgage questions. Form submissions go to John's email and his customer-relationship system. We don't sell your information. Mobile numbers and text-message consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.

Analytics and advertising cookies. To understand how people use this site and to measure my social media and ads, this site uses Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. They use cookies or similar technology to record things like the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, roughly where you are (city level), and actions such as tapping the call or text button, playing a video, using a calculator, or sending the contact form. They do not receive what you type into the contact form or the calculators, and we don't send them your name, phone, email, or loan details. Google and Meta process this data under their own privacy policies.

How to opt out. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use your browser's private mode, or turn on Global Privacy Control or an ad blocker. You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, control ad personalization in Google My Ad Center, and manage how Meta uses data from other sites in your Meta ad preferences (see Meta's cookie policy). Calculators and videos. Calculators run entirely in your browser; the numbers you type are never sent anywhere. TikTok and YouTube videos load from those companies only after you press play, and then their own privacy policies apply.
